Step 1: Review Our Program

Welcome to Haven for Her Baltimore

Haven for Her Baltimore provides housing within a structured living program for adult women, with or without children, who are in transition. Before beginning the referral or application process, please review our program overview, who we serve, and our home expectations to ensure a good fit.

Step 2: Check Eligibility

 

To support safe and stable placement, participants must meet the following basic eligibility guidelines. Eligibility considerations may include:


• Adult women ages 18 and older, with or without children (up to two children, based on availability)


• Ability to live independently in a shared living environment


• Reliable income or verified agency funding


• No active safety concerns, as determined through agency or self-screening

Step 3: Submit a Referral

Haven for Her Baltimore accepts referrals from partner agencies, case managers, approved community organizations, and private individuals seeking placement for adult women, with or without children, who are in transition.

Haven for Her Baltimore does not operate as an emergency or crisis shelter. All placements are referral-based, screened for program fit, and scheduled based on availability.


Referral information may include:

• Participant name

• Contact information

• Income or funding source

• Case manager name and contact information (if applicable)

• Preferred move-in date

• Number of children (if applicable)

• Any relevant safety or support considerations


We respond to standard referral inquiries within 24–48 business hours.

Step 4: Referral Review & Follow-Up

 Once a referral/application is received, the information provided will be reviewed to confirm basic eligibility and room availability. If appropriate, we will contact the referring case manager or agency to verify details and coordinate next steps.


For standard referrals submitted by email, responses are typically provided within 24–48 business hours. For time-sensitive referrals received by phone, follow-up will occur as availability permits.

Step 5: Move-In Coordination

 If a participant is approved for placement, we will coordinate with the referring case manager or agency to finalize the move-in plan. This may include:


  • Confirming the anticipated move-in date
     
  • Completing the program participation agreement
     
  • Processing the required community fee
     
  • Reviewing house guidelines and expectations
     
  • Preparing the assigned room prior to arrival
     

All move-ins are scheduled based on room availability and program readiness.
